Carissa Schroeder, Missouri native, lends smoke and molasses to the luxurious blend churned out by Siren's Crush. As one of eleven freshmen in the 2005 class of jazz vocalists at the University of Miami School of Music, Carissa expanded her listening to include the jazz greats, the classic blues artists, and their experimental offspring, i.e. Jimi Hendrix and The Parliament Funkadelic.
With such a broad background, it is not hard to believe that Carissa's influences also range the spectrum. Her favorites include everyone from Reba McEntire and Patsy Cline to Blondie and Gwen Stafani. Her vocal stylings line up nicely with those of Bonnie Raitt or Sheryl Crow (a fellow Missourian), but if she had to choose one person with whom to sing a duet, it would be Susan Tedeschi, hands down.
Her full-bodied, gritty sound rounds out the fabric created by Rebecca's warm, smooth tones and Angie's crystal clear bell tones. Carissa brings twenty years of performance experience to the mix.
